Long Distance Move

Moved with Trillium Moving to Regina, SK this past month. Everything was great and service was amazing. Many months ago we moved to Montreal and the company we chose delivered late. We were concerned that this would happen again. But despite the bad weather conditions and road closures, Trillium still delivered within the promised time frame. My sincere thanks to Kate who was wonderful. Kept me updated through every step and had responded to my crazy questions even after business hours. Our young family is now growing and I am sure that if we need movers in the future we wont hesitate to call Trillium Moving. They really made us feel important. Glad we chose a Canadian Family business. Moved from Montreal, QC - Regina, SK. K. Stanley

Poor moving experience

My wife and I hired Trillium to move our belongings from a storage unit in Fredericton to our new home in Calgary. We chose them from a large pool of big and small movers that all had good and bad reviews. Overall our experience was poor, but from what I've learned since sharing experiences with many people who have hired many different movers, it was a typical moving experience. Maybe the whole industry is broken. Maybe the rates are too low to be able to provide consistently good service. We had a few of damaged items, a lost lawnmower, and lots and lots of scuffs and nicks and scratches. The damaged items were all packed by the movers, and after watching how a move goes I'm not surprised that so many items got banged up in the process. My estimated and actual weights were very different (actual was almost double) but since the estimate was done using industry standards for our goods I wasn't surprised that there was a difference. You pay for what the load actually weighs, so there really isn't much use in estimates, only the price/lb and the conditions of the move are important when comparing movers. I requested a weigh scale ticket to show the tare and load weights and justify the final invoice, and what I was given was a note on Trillium letterhead stating that the load was weighed at their own scale in Toronto and stated the net weight. That wasn't going to fly with my company (who were paying for my move) so I then requested (in fact, argued for) a re-weigh at a public certified scale. It's important to note that using public certified scales is required in the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario Regulation 643/05 (Section 18.1) and the other provincial Regs I looked at as well. Of course normally there's no way to know what's in the truck when the weights are taken, but that's another story... Anyway, I was surprised to see that there was a significant difference between Trillium's own scale and the truck stop scale. Trillium's weight was much higher (>1200 lbs). I was provided a refund for the difference in weight as well as the re-scaling fee (the truck stop charged $200, which I payed for out of pocket) without hesitation, but also without an explanation. Two small but not insignificant good parts of the whole experience: communication was professional and timely, and delivery was only a little late. I also learned a funny thing: the movers (any movers) have little motivation other than online reviews to provide good service: if you're insured, then the insurance company will pay for damages; if you're not insured, then nobody pays for damages. The moving company is only responsible for $0.60/lb whether we're talking a box of old paperbacks or a big screen TV. Next time - as much as it will be difficult - we'll get a UHaul and drive our own stuff across the country.

Move to Florida

As a person who is on the go all the time, I really dont have time to go online and write reviews. However, being that Chloe was so wonderful to deal with during this stressful move, I promised the company that I would post something following my delivery. I would like to report that I was very happy with the service. We relocated our office and small family condo from Quebed Saint Laurent area to Florida. We are finally retiring. Through no fault of the company there were some delays with closing the new home here and we had no choice but to arrange storage at the last minute. The company was kind enough to place the goods in storage, locate the storage facility and pay for it. Once we were able to have access to our home, they re-arrange delivery and everything went as scheduled. I was extremely impressed with the response times through the company and Chloe was amazing to deal with. We had made changes to our reservation every other day almost and through all of this she was still great to deal with. We have another part of our office to move and Trillium Moving has already started the packing job on that one. Excellent Service!

Trillium Moving Reviews

My family and I moved from Ingersoll, ON to Laval, QC area. We were happy with the service. The crew was amazing on both sides. We had terrible weather on the pick up date (Nov 7) but the crew never complained once. There was tons of snow and the cold weather temperatures didnt help, but they never once complained. We requested for the same crew to appear at the delivery part but it wasnt promised - we understood. We were pleasantly suprised when we opened our door and the crew that we requested appeared. We were happy becuase they knew our stuff and were very helpful. Didnt rush the delivery and took the time to place everything where it needed to go. The storage in between the pick up and delivery was also included as a part of the quote/price and this was a great bonus. We felt very comfortable with the crew in our home and this was a great experience. They are very recommended by our family!

We wanted to take the time to post a good review for Trillium Moving and Storage. They have been very helpful through the moving process and very pleasant to deal with. We went with the full packing service and were very happy with the result. Many fragile items were packed and delivered in good condition. We had one fragile cabinet that was damaged, but Trillium was very helpful in the claim process and we now have our cabinet back in order. We were happy with the initial follow up and the kindness of these folks. During the claim process we were happy with the manager Lisa who followed up on the estimates and suggested good providers in the Vancouver area who could help with the repair. After the initial shock of the damage, and the kind response from the team, it was like it never happened. Next time we will be choosing Trillium Moving and Storage for our move.

Moving t5o Toronto, ON

I had my stuff moved from Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON a few weeks ago by Trillium Moving. My moving planner was Kate, she was wonderful to deal with and was always easier to get in touch with. She answered my questions and helped me make this a good move. The men were nice and polite at Vancouver and Toronto. I had no damage to my furniture or boxes which was great. I would recommend them to anyone looking to move, and will use the service again when I move to Edmonton next year.

Winter Move

I hate moving in the winter, but had no choice. I was moved for work and I had to quickly find a company that would accomodate my moving dates. Trillium was quick to respond and contact with them was always easy during the move. I would ask a question and would always recieve a response. The movers were very good and had actually made the winter move look much easier than I thought. I was so stressed about moving in the cold and awful weather, but thankfully everything went just great.

My move to Montreal

In September 2012 I hired Trillium Moving to assist me with my move from Saskatoon to Montreal. I received an email from my sales rep asking if I would mind posting a few comments about my move online to help promote their company. As incentive they are offering a $5 donation to the charity of my choice for each review I post. I had a really good experience with Trillium, no damages, the price was right, the guys were very professional and the office staff was competent and honest. I learned the hardway from past experience that the lowest price is NEVER the best option, like anything else you get what you pay for. Do your homework and find out about the reputation of your moving company without letting the low price distract you. I am happy to recommend Trillium Moving to anyone looking to make a move.
