The same man you are talking about is the same rude person that ripped me off. I ordered a very expensive cake for a show and the night before the show the cake fell apart. We showed them pictures and a video of the completely ruined cake and was given the run around. I was told that my money would be refunded but the owner of the store never paid. The store is a second rate joke and I will never again have any dealings with them. Also the cake was far from tasting home made.

There are no words to explain . one of the worst customer service experiences i have ever had . The Man who claims to be the manger is a very rude person .

Used to order all birthday cakes from Katies but not anymore the service is terrible. Very rude on the phone whe enquiring about pricing. Used to be very good...think it's time the bakers stick to baking and they find a good receptionist to take orders. Go to Phipps...service with a smile always.

I also had an issue when I placed my order. I was told one price for the cookies and when my husband went to pick them up they were charging him almost $2.00 more per cookie. When I spoke to the owner, she was beyond rude. I could hear her yelling in the background to her other employee with regards to how long it took her to make those cookies and she didn't care. If I didn't want to pay, then I don't get the cookies at the price we had originally agreed upon. Bottom line, VERY rude. Luckily we live in a big city where there are TONS of other QUALITY bakeries that actually CARE about their customers!!!


DOES NOT HONOUR PRICE QUOTES

I sent an e-mail to Katie's with a picture of a cake requesting for a quotation for the cake WITH FILLING. She quoted me $90 for the cake. It was a 1 layer 12" round cake. I was fine with the price as it was made from fondant which is more time consuming to make. When I went to the store to place the order, she did not honour the price. She wanted an additional $20 for the filling. So I told her that I had specifically asked for the filling to be included in the price in my e-mail. I had also called the store to confirm this. She asked me to give her a benefit of a doubt and will check her e-mail. Then she moved on to the next customer. I waited for a few minutes and then asked her if she was going to check her e-mail, she then told me that her computer was in the basement and that she was too busy to check. She also said to me that if I did not want to order from her store, that would be perfectly okay because she was busy enough. I am really disappointed and shocked that she did not keep her words, and instead casually brushing customers away. She is wasting people's time in giving out quotes and not honouring them! It makes me wonder if she can't even keep her words on the price when you are giving her business and your money, how can you trust that the ingredients she uses is as good and as fresh as she says it is? This is not a matter of money, but rather principal and honesty in doing business. Buyers beware!

Extremely Dissapointing

I ordered a Red Velvet cake for my wife's birthday as a surprise, not only was my wife surprised, I was surprised too, the cake did not taste good, the icing they used should have been cream cheese but they used a very cheap tasting sugar icing. My expectation from Katie's was high due to a co-workers recommendation, but the cake was horrible. I paid $35 for it, I wished I went to a store chain and bought one for half the price, the cake would probably taste better. And also, the people I dealt with were never friendly. Please take my advice, go somewere else!!!

Disappointment

I'm really dissapointed this year. Every year we order cookies for my son's B-Day and this time they were paper thin. I could see through the cookie! Are times tough or was this order not on your priority list?
