Creature Comforts Toys and its sister Canadian company Parkdale Novelty were founded in 1944 by Morris Kotzer in Toronto, Canada. As a postwar toy and novelty company it grew quickly with the baby boom generation. Starting with domestically manufactured toys, Parkdale Novelty began importing toys from Japan in the 1950s. In the 1960’s Parkdale Novelty became the Canadian distributor for Mego Toys. Today Creature Comforts has become the industry leader in custom plush toys.
