Interpretive signs tell a story and usually include detailed graphics. Traditional signs (painted wood) normally do not last beyond three years. They tend to fade, chip, or peel and need to be replaced frequently. The weather and acid rain along with the sun's rays tend to cause this problem. Graphics create another type of problem: they need to be silk screened on a porous or non-porous material such as wood, glass or aluminum. Graphic designers and Purchasers have been long looking for a more permanent solution for signs. Traditional signs are also susceptible to vandalism. Inlay Creations has the unique patented inlay process and uses only solid surface material, non-porous materials for this process. The process solves all the above problems. The solid surface material is laser engraved using computer generated art. All text and/or graphics are lasered into the base material. The inlay is mixed to desired colours and put into the engraved areas. Colours are matched by using PMS numbers from the Pantone Colour Chart (coated). The excess inlay is sanded off leaving the text and graphics clear and flush with the base material.
