Clogged Toilet

2022.06.09

Have you ever had a clogged toilet that just wouldn't flush no matter how much water you used? Well, it's not just you.

It's called a backed-up toilet and it can be frustrating, to say the least. The cause of a backed-up toilet is usually simple – something has gotten stuck in the drain. There are a few things that you can do to try to unblock your drain before calling a plumber:

- Use a plunger: Plunging your hand into the drain and using the plunger blade to dislodge whatever is obstructing the flow will often work. Just be sure not to use too much force or you may damage the drain.

- Use a bucket and plunger: If plunging doesn't seem to be working, try using a bucket and plunger together. Fill the bucket with water and place it over the obstruction. Force the plunger down into the water until it covers the obstruction. Then lift up on the sides of the bucket, lifting out whatever was blocking the drain.

- If none of these methods work, it's time to call a plumber.

Water Leak Detection

2022.06.07

If you think there may be a water leak in your home, the first thing you should do is check all visible pipes and fixtures for any signs of leaks. If you see any water dripping or pooled around a pipe, that’s a good indication that there’s a leak. You can also try turning on all the faucets in your home and checking the meter to see if the needle is moving, if it is, that means water is flowing somewhere, which could indicate a leak. Once you’ve determined that there is a water leak, the next step is to determine where it’s coming from. This can be tricky, as leaks can sometimes be hidden behind walls or under floors. If you can’t find the source of the leak, it’s best to call a professional plumber who will have the skills and equipment to locate and fix the problem.
