Psychic Readings by Kathleen
When a sweetheart introduced me to the Tarot deck in 1974, they were a relatively unknown esoteric tool. There were some who knew what it was and used it for divination, personal growth and games. Some who shunned it, fearing it was a lure of the devil. All these years later, the Tarot deck is in every bookstore, most people have at least heard it mentioned by someone, and it continues to constellate feelings of curiosity, awe and aversion.
I am often asked if I “just read the Tarot” or do other things as well. It’s the word “just” that I stumble on. Learning to read the Tarot well has been an ongoing challenge for me despite the fact that I have been doing it for most of my life and teaching it for almost half. The meaning of each of the 78 cards along with how that meaning is altered depending on it’s placement in a layout, in combination with the surrounding cards is honestly an intellectual challenge that would give most reason to pause! Out of the hundreds of enthusiasts I’ve taught over the years only a handful are still using the Tarot and as far as I know continue to study it with the same diligence I do.
Additionally there is the creative challenge of relevant story-telling. Telling stories is an ancient art form often used for healing individuals, community building and sustenance, and cultural identity. Story-telling has been a lauded gift for millenia. Each Tarot reading is a new story, created on the spot about a person which must resonate on some level for them. Each reading must be relevant, personal, and informative. Like a dream, it has a plethora of attributes which aim to guide and heal the listener.
The random placement of 78 picture cards depicting archetypal and universal symbols and creating a unique narrative with the display does something rather inexplicable to the mind. It stimulates new pathways to form in our brains, and encourages blood flow to areas of our brain we don’t normally exercise in our mundane, everyday lives. This mind opening has the synergistic effect of altering our vibration and elevating a scope which is better able to access information from unseen sources. That’s why it is often said that working with the Tarot amps psychic ability.
There are thousands of books on the market explaining the meanings of the cards and direction to how to read them but the most effective teaching tool is the cards. Buy a deck and practice using them for yourself.
And to the question, “Yes”, I answer. I just read the Tarot.

Live Personal Psychic Reading by Professional Reader
2010.07.06
Many people ask if Kathleen's readings are strictly Tarot Card readings or if there is a true psychic ability gift also involved. If you are not a Tarot card reader, you probably have a limited notion of the amount of study, skill and authentic esoteric knowledge that is involved to be a good Tarot reader. It is not a simple process! Kathleen has been studying the Tarot for thirty years, teaching and reading it for more than twenty years and she is still learning new methodologies every day. Studying and practicing any divination tool enhances psychic ability in its users. The vast majority of professional readers are recognizably psychically gifted before they enter the demanding and committed study. That's the primary reason students are attracted to a tool in the first place.

Psychic Readings by Kathleen
2010.07.06
What is a spiritual crisis? We tend to associate it with a loss of faith. For an inexplicable reason we stop believing there is a divine will which is separate from our own. It hasn’t helped that our much lauded “Scientific Age” has put strict parameters upon that which will be accepted as truth. According to the masters of science, for something to be true, it must adhere to specific criteria associated with rationalism, methodology, and visible proof. Certainly science can claim many conversions to its side of the debate but it has obviously failed to lure everyone.
A hundred and fifty years ago, when science was forced to face the possibility of defeat in the face of irrational faith, it brought in its youngest and sloppiest sister, psychology. Psychology (the word means the study of the soul) with its rather loose boundaries was invited to prove its mettle by debunking spirituality once and for all. To this day psychology remains split on this fault line between those who adhere to notions of soul and spirit as an integral part of being human and those who think it’s all a matter of delusion and insanity. We have a record of Dr. Freud (father of psychoanalysis) admonishing his colleague, Dr. Jung (father of analysis) not to fix his research upon soul and spirit or he will be irresponsibly throwing all credibility in the study of the psyche out in the cold. Sadly at the end of his life however, Freud is also noted as saying that if he’d had his life to live over he would have studied the esoteric sciences! It really was all about garnering favour with the scientific community.
At the Perimeter Institute, a world class science research project initiated by one of the owners of RIM (producer of the blackberry) the most brilliant science minds of our age have been have been conjuring formulas to prove the reality and truth of quantum physics. Physics, certainly one of the purest titans of science in its fascination with quantum physics is curiously reaching across the old divide between faith and science.
I don’t mean to suggest that I don’t love science. My highest grades in school were in physics and math but it was in the arena of creative expression, story-telling, and sociology that my soul soared and my spirit sang. I’ve always believed that we must be mindful not to fall into the trap of one being more right, valuable, or true than the other. We must push ourselves to demand a balance of faith and science in order to avoid the pitfalls of spiritual crisis. Love and wisdom set the highest standards by which we can solve our personal and collective problems. We cannot expect that prayer will solve our pollution problems any more than we can expect logic to fix our infantile desire. Utilizing both powers and demanding a balance between the two will hold our faith steady and make our logic creative. If one wing is stronger than the other we find ourselves flying around in circles.
