Kats Kennel Testimonial – October 2012
Helene and I have used Kats Kennel often over the past 4 years for two different Labrador Retrievers for both short term and longer term stays.
Sasha was a 6 year old yellow Lab, born at Maasland Kennels (the forerunner to Kats) who had knee ligament issues, requiring two separate operations. The facilities at Kats are well equipped to handle senior dogs or dogs with disabilities, such as Sasha had. Kat structured her level of activity and exposure to other dogs according to her level of mobility. We had absolutely no concerns that Sasha would receive the care and post operation medications she required. Sasha thought she was in doggie heaven.
Christi (short for Corpus Christi) was a 4 month old black American Lab that we adopted while wintering in Texas. Christi, who is now a year old, had different needs. She had obedience and training needs in terms of interacting appropriately with people and socializing with other dogs. During one 48 hour “doggie camp”, Kat worked with her behavior issues one-on-one as well as with her own 3 large breed dogs. As well, Kat made several home visits to observe her behavior in her own surroundings and provided training for us the trainers! Kat has accompanied us on training walks in Tatamagouche both with and without her own dogs.
Plain and simple…Kats Kennels know dogs, large and small, young and old, fit or disabled. You can count on Kats Kennels to provide top level love and care for your dog, either for the short term or longer stay. Kat believes in caring for all residents herself (not staff) and provides detailed written reports of your pet’s stay. Only one problem…book well ahead because the demand for her services are high!

Kats Kennel Testimonial – October 2012
Both of our beloved German Shepherds, Scotia and - towards the end of her long life - Katie, have been visiting Kat's Kennels since May 2008. Kat and Dave take our pets in and care for them like they are part of their family.
When we're busy preparing to go away on a trip, taking the family dog to Kat's Kennel is one less thing to worry about. Arrival is calm, stress-free and orderly. We know we are leaving our dog at a place where she will be relaxed, safe, played with and cared for like no where else.
Kat always goes over who Scotia's 'neighbours' are going to be, assures us we will be contacted if any problems arise, and wishes us a safe trip. We appreciate her insistence that all her boarders' vaccines are up-to-date; it protects everyone and ensures that all animals are healthy.
Kat and Dave certainly go above and beyond with their boarding facility, and we've recommended them to many friends. We are fortunate to have them in our community.
