The College of Denturists of British Columbia (CDBC) is the regulatory body for denturists in British Columbia. The CDBC sets standards and regulates denturism to ensure quality practice and protection of the public. The CDBC was established in 1995 after the Board of Dental Technicians and Denturists was dissolved. It derives its authority from the Health Professions Act. This legislation establishes a social contract between the CDBC and the public who seek services from denturists in British Columbia. The social contract obligates the CDBC to serve and protect the public. Leading this work, the CDBC is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, comprised of six denturists and three public members. The work of the CDBC is executed by a three member staff team (the Registrar, Executive Secretary and Program Coordinator).
