The albacore tuna we catch are surface feeders, and will come up from as deep as 70 meters to take a jig. Once hooked, the fish are brought in to the boat, stunned, bled, thoroughly washed. The fish are immediately put on freezer plates in the hold, where they are quickly frozen to -30 c.. Fast freezing and extremely cold temperatures ensure that our fish maintains its high quality from the moment it's caught until you serve it. Our fish have been recognized by environmental stewardship organizations like the Vancouver Aquarium's "Ocean Wise" program and the Monterrey Bay Aquarium's "Seafood Watch" program. As a member of the B.C. Tuna Fishermen's Association, our fishery has received certification by the Marine Stewardship Council. We support the Nature Trust of B.C. and contribute a portion of all our sales to the Nature Trust of B.C.
