Independent Living Halton has been assisting adults with physical disabilities in Halton since 1995. It began with Deborah's Home in Milton; a cozy five bedroom home fully wheelchair accessible and designed to fit into its residential setting. The service expanded to accommodate the needs of adults who wished to remain in their homes. This part of the organization now assists up to 30 adults at any one time. The services are built around the ideas of maximizing peoples choices and opportunities to remain in control of their lives. There are no doctors, no nurses. We focus on getting the right person to you at the right time to assist with usual tasks of daily living. This is service to assist you, and so it is neither supervision nor companionship.
