The U.C.C.M. Anishnaabe Police Service is one of 9 self-administered First Nation police services located in the province of Ontario, Canada. In my new role as Chief of Police since June 2010, I believe that one of our greatest assets is the ability and opportunity to work closely with our six First Nations Communities that we serve. As partners in community safety, this has, and will continue to be, the key for our ongoing success and development toward progressive community policing strategies; we realize that these strategies must be culturally sensitive and accepted as the norm for our jurisdiction in order for us to succeed in our goals for long term community wellness and safety.
