We are a play based nature program, using the Reggio Emilia approach for children’s development and learning. We believe every child is capable, strong and competent, rich with wonder and knowledge. Amelia House focuses on the importance of the relationships between the child, their peers, teachers, family and community. Our two ECE's Aurore and Lily have a passion and experience teaching young children in nature.Our program provides children with a rich hands on experience.Expect to see yoga as part of our amazing program as Kendra is a trained child yoga teacher! We are servicing Lantzville, Nanaimo and Nanoose families. Our class size is 13 children with 2-3 Educators. We have access to a professional kitchen and look forward to cooking with your child. As a community program we are excited to seek out local artists, gardeners and scientists to add their knowledge and experiences to our program such as gardening or birding.. We have connected with a local farmer to add a food garden to our yard in the spring. and will work with a local gardener to design and plant a cutting garden.. With our Reggio Inspired program we celebrate the 100 languages of children through art, dance, music and movement.. Process Art s enthused into the program using quality materials such as clay, water colour and collage. Expect to find our child in the garden painting at the outdoor easel, exploring out fairy garden or indoors exploring our light table, home centre, block centre or art in our atelier.
