Dr. Arthur obtained his medical degree at McMaster University, graduating in 2004. This was followed by residency in Rural Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Arthur came to Lakefield in 2007, where local pharmacist Nick Lalani generously provided office space in the Lakefield Day Clinic so he could get started. Coming from a rural background, he was anxious to practice in a smaller centre like Lakefield. However, he also wanted to be in an area where there was strong support in the community for health care. During that time, Dr. Arthur grew more and more impressed by the people of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield and Douro-Dummer. Their drive, determination, co-operation and perseverance in envisioning, fundraising for and building the Morton Community Healthcare Centre convinced him that this was the kind of community he could practice in.
