We operate two programs; The Assisted Living Program and the Therapeutic Work Program. These programs provide flexible services that adapt to the challenging needs of individuals requiring assistance.

The society was organized in 1953 by a group of parents, teachers, doctors and concerned citizens to ensure the education of children with mental handicaps. We were known as the Sunnyvale Centre at that time. In 1958, the Sunnyvale Centre had an enrollment of thirteen students and a staff of two teachers who taught classes of seven to thirteen years old and fifteen to thirty years old. By 1968 the needs of the individuals was now more diverse and required a day activity for those who had graduated from school. The Sunnyvale Workshop was developed to serve the needs of these individuals. The school enrolment was now eighteen students supported by three teachers. The Sunnyvale Workshop grew to serve twenty-seven adults, supported by six staff.

Meal Preparation: Our MD home support staff will ensure that you are not only eat at set times, but we will prepare healthy meals for you Medicine Reminders: Are you at risk of taking the wrong medication at the wrong time, wrong dose or are you forgetting about taking your medication? Pediatric Care: MD home Support are available to a wide range of clients, with specialized services for all age groups. Personal Care: Help our clients get in and out of bed, bathing and personal cleanliness, dental hygiene, shaving and other basic healthcare, grooming, getting you dressed, compression stockings, and putting on your shoes. Since 1975, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada in British Columbia & Yukon has supported MS research and provided services and programs to enhance quality of life for more than 8, 000 British Columbians &Yukoners affected by MS and their families. We have ten Chapters throughout the Province and Territory. Each Chapter provides services and programs in and around its community. We offer outreach programs for those communities beyond Chapter boundaries. There are many ways to contribute to the work of the MS Society of Canada. From becoming a member or board member, to making a donation or a planned gift, to volunteering in the office or at an event – your support makes a difference.
