Christine’s Place began as a dream in a young woman’s heart. A dream to honour her birth mother and to make a difference in the lives of others who may find themselves alone and unsupported as they try to navigate an unplanned pregnancy. Christine was a young teenager who found herself pregnant, alone and without support. She did not feel that she had many options but she did choose to continue with her pregnancy and place her baby for adoption. Her baby was cared for and raised by loving adoptive parents, and grew to become a wonderful young woman. Overtime this young woman connected with her birth mother, Christine. She shared stories with her birth mother of her wonderful upbringing and thanked her for making the choices that she did. Sadly, Christine never did find a place where she felt loved and accepted. She ended up suffering with addictions that led to her premature death several years ago.
