Dr. Vaughan has been Chief Health Human Resources Officer for Nova Scotia, the President of a health Internet company - WebMD Canada, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Medical Association, as well as a primary care/public health physician, and a humanitarian in war torn countries such as the former Yugoslavia and Guatemala. He completed his Master of Public Health degree at The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. He has an Honors Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, and a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, where he was valedictorian. In 2005, in recognition of scholarly excellence and practice in public health policy and management, he was inducted into the Delta Omega Honor Society, Alpha Chapter, the American national academic society that encourages research and scholarship in public health. He is an inspirational keynote speaker with numerous writing and production credits including short fiction, humor, travel, international medical news, new media and broadcast television.
