CNIB passionately provides community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life. Founded in 1918, we’re entering our 100th year of operation – and celebrating a century of changing individual lives and society as a whole. Our work – and our impact – takes many forms. Through Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada, a new health services organization operated by CNIB, we provide personalized rehabilitation services designed to enhance independence, safety and mobility after a loss of sight. Meanwhile, CNIB’s other community-based services empower Canadians who are blind or partially sighted to lead rich, full lives, and move us toward a more inclusive world. With more than 50 offices nationwide, our strength comes from our community. We are proud to work in partnership with Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, volunteers, donors, government partners and all those who share our goal of changing what it is to be blind today.

Camp Maple Leaf was established in 1955 by the Canadian Council of War Veterans for the purpose of giving children of military families and those who are economically disadvantaged the transformative experience only summer camp can offer. Since then, CML has given this special experience to over 30, 000 children. Camp Maple Leaf fills an important social role by offering an experience to kids who would benefit the most from growing and learning while enjoying nature, developing crucial life skills, and making new friends and lasting memories.
