Darlene Johnston Owner of Pampered and Polished Salon and Spa I’ve been a nail technician and salon owner for about 30 years. I was a teacher at Mohawk College and helped design and teach the Nail Technician program and Business & Marketing Course for 11 years. I enjoy my profession as I’m always meeting new people and new challenges and that’s what keeps me on the cutting edge. I attend at least 3 shows and 5 professional classes per year. Keeping informed and educated in this ever changing profession is very important. My career goal has always been the same, to bring my dedication and enthusiasm for nails, hair, and esthetics to my full service spa environment that emphasizes team spirit, customer service, sanitation and disinfection, mentoring of employees and of course continuing education. Accomplishments : Nail tech of the year for Canada, 5 time winner Honorable mention for Nails Magazine Nail tech of the year Educator of the year for Mohawk College Appeared in Nails magazine and Canadian Hairdresser and Salon magazines.
