Very disappointed with this practice and OB Dr omalie. I have been treated like a number not a human. Just to get the initial appointment took 3 months after the referral.... Then when I was looked at looked at I was referred to surgery at the hospital hospital and she only had 2 days out of every month to complete the surgery and unfortunately the following month I had plans out of province on the 2 days she was available so I asked a book the following month however she did not have the schedule ready. When I got a phone call the following month to book I was in the middle of moving and when was unable to book until I knew what my schedule looked like and when I called back the 2 dates they had available were booked so I asked to be put on a cancelation list and they told me nobody ever cancels... I said I don't care; in the event that somebody cancels can you please call me because this has already gone on for almost a year with no treatment because This particular doctor never has any availability. ( Before confirming and scheduling a surgery date and putting on a cancelation list I asked to just book an appointment with the doctor and have her refer me to somebody out of town that has better availability but unfortunately I was told I had to wait for 2 months before I could even get in to see her in the office and was also told she typically only deals with pregnant women (like im less important cuz im not pregnant... i didnt ask to be refered to her); as i expressed my frustration the receptionist tells me she cant deal with this cuz she didn't have her lunch yet and hung up on me.) Then low and behold I was called in for the cancelation and the last minute surgery.... I was asked if I had any allergies or sensitivities to any type of medication and I was very descriptive in telling them I cannot take morphine at all and also Tylenol or advil or any type of Anti-inflammatory orally and that it has to be through interveness or topical. what do you think they gave me in my surgery.....Morphine.... As I was about to leave I said I don't remember you giving me anything for antenflammatory through interveness.... She exclaimed "we didn't, we only gave ypu morphine". I said "pardon me?!" So they gave me what I told them not to, then they wrote on my chart to go home and take Advil or Tylenol (which i cant take)..... Also, the Dr. Omalie popped her head in for a min and asked if anything had changed from when we had our initial consultation and I expressed it has changed a lot....she said ok n left...didn't take a look or the time to discuss it before I went under but after find out that now things are beyond her scope of practice and another specialist has to take care of the rest....so instead of taking a minute to take a look at what changed since my initial consult, she waited till I was already under and unable to have anysay in the direction we were going. So now instead on only having to go through 1 surgery now I potentially have to go for two. She obviously didn't read my chart or communicate with the nurses that are doing their intakes for them in regards to medications and did not handle me with the proper care and attention I deserved. I will be reporting this to the college of physicians.
