Where do I start with Valleyview Apartments? Well, let's begin with the health concerns. If you plan to live there, I hope you like having 10 chain smokers that live solely in your bedroom, because that's essentially what it's like. The ventilation of all units are seemingly laced together. Enjoy that stench 24/7, not to mention the soot that will build up at a remarkable rate on your floors. Now let's talk about the scuzzy management. The building is old, and isn't in the best shape. However, we were fooled by the landlord, who stated she was really trying to clean the place up. She promised renovations throughout the building and a parking lot without gaping holes by the end of summer. None of that actually happened. Oh, and once you're in, you can never leave. Here's how it went for me: I gave 60 days notice, complaining about the smoke and health concerns. I was told I needed to wait until the first of August, even though it was July 2 (I missed the notice date by one day). So we spent three more months in the hell hole (throughout these months, loud late night arguments would ring out from other units, and kids in masks would walk the halls). Finally, we were out, in a safe and healthy renting situation. Then the calls started coming in. For three long months after moving out, the landlord harassed us with calls, demanding various sums of money (from $70, to $30, to a year's worth of rent). In conclusion, skip over this trash can of a living space. If you look, you can find a lot more for your money in this city. Trust me, I pay the same rent I did at Valleyview, in a far superior building.
