TREA has been on the forefront of programs such as the blue box and curbside recycling, home composting training, an information Rot-Line, TREA Talk, Bike to Work Week, the London Green Directory - a listings of local suppliers of environmentally friendly products and services and most recently pesticides, air quality and climate change issues.
TREA hosts the annual London Bicycle Festival and Commuter Challenge Week and more recently has acquired funding and staffing for the London and Area Active & Safe Routes to School (ASRTS) program and I WALK Week with several community partners. TREA also participates in community planning projects with London Clean and Green, London Composts and the London Coalition Against Pesticides.
TREA regularly invites speakers to its monthly meetings, supports issue based working groups and offers a speakers bureau on various topics. TREA takes an active role in community issues and is represented on various municipal advisory committees and community organizations.
In 2004, TREA in collaboration with the City of London conducted a multi-faceted Do Your Share for Clean Air climate change and air quality community awareness campaign. This involved visits to schools and educators, corporations, churches, community organizations and special events throughout the year encouraging individual home and vehicle energy conservation and pesticide use reduction utilizing 12 partner organization messages.
