Founded in 1985 by Henry, John, and Herman Lepp. Springland Manufacturing opened for business in 1985 with brothers Henry, John and Herman Lepp. It was founded on the family farm north of Rivers, Manitoba, with the hope that they could build a mechanical grain bin cleaner that was more efficient, safer, and more simple to use than what was on the market at the time. The first systems were round unloaders to accommodate bins up to 48 feet in diameter. The Springland U-Trough design was developed in 1998, in response to the need for faster emptying of larger grain bins with less product damage. The advantages and durability of the U-Trough System proved itself, and now marketed world-wide, has all but replaced the round tube style. Springland Manufacturing branched out into the commercial grain handling market in 1989. The 6000 Series Commercial Sweep was designed for grain processing plants and elevators requiring large storage bins up to 135 feet in diameter. This model of sweep is now the “benchmark” for commercial sweeps featuring the Positive Drive Advance system and the much safer “Zero Entry” design. Springland recognized another marketplace need in 2005 with the introduction of the Springland Elevator Wheel. This product set the standard in positive sweep advancement, and coupled with the U-Trough System, has vaulted Springland well ahead of the competition in bin sweep design. Springland Manufacturing celebrated its 25th year of business in 2010. Today, along with the Lepp brothers, Springland has grown to a staff of approximately 60 employees, and through its extensive dealer network, has sales spanning North America, Europe and Asia.
