Welcome to Sherwood's Forests Tree Farm.
We grow and sell Alberta hardy trees throughout central Alberta.
We grow mostly in containers. Our trees are large enough to miss with a mower, small enough to plant with a shovel.
Our customers:
The acreage owner whose dreams and visions are larger than their budget, and need to start with young trees.
Reclamation contractors who need trees that are larger than nursery seedlings, but smaller than conventional garden centre trees.
Come visit. I'll show you around the nursery, and around the farm. Even if you don't need trees right now, I'm happy to talk about possibilities with you, show some of my ideas about landscaping. They say, "Talk is cheap." I go one better: Talk is free. PHONE First. Otherwise you will have to ask the cat where I am. 80 acres works out to 3 million square feet.

Our trees are special
Why should you buy from us? Here are the advantages:
** Expert non-partisan advice: If I don't have the right tree for you, I say so, and send you to another grower.
** Container Grown. We grow in pots. You get all the roots. Plant any time you can dig.
** Alberta hardy. All of our trees winter here.
** Unusual Sizes. Smaller tree = Easier Planting + Lower Cost + Greater Survival
** Fast Supply. Local Grower + Container Grown = Trees on Demand.
** Soil, not bark chips. I tried various mixes, but found that most of my trees do well in a mix that is half compost and half field soil. It's heavier than the Big Box store, but better for the trees.
** Personal Service & Good Advice. I believe that an informed, educated customer can make better decisions.
