This was a turning point in Lucas’ life. He participated in an eight-day retreat with AHAM (Association of Happiness for All Mankind) where he learned to meditate, and experienced a profound inner peace. It was during a meditation at this retreat that Lucas experienced a vision. In this vision he saw a retreat centre. The picture he later drew of the vision looked like a human carwash, where people walked into the building with sad faces and walked out smiling. So began the vision for Ocean Resort. Lucas’ time in India inspired a commitment to his personal journey of transformation and a desire to share this experience with others. It was from this desire, that the impetus to create a safe and supportive place where transformation could occur, our vision, was born. Working with his partner, in life and spirit, Cheryl Levine, Lucas opened Ocean Resort in the fall of 2008. Since that day Ocean Resort has continued to evolve and grow to what it is today. Lucas and Cheryl often shake their heads in wonder at what has transpired since that first retreat. Through out the evolution of the organization the original vision remained true and the “people-wash” continues to leave Ocean Resort guests smiling.
