Our school motto is 'Vita Vitalis - A Life Worthwhile'.
The population of the school is around 1260
Our library is the largest in southern New Brunswick schools with over 17, 000 volumes.
Our media centre offers many opportunities to students from digital video editing to photo developing to publishing. As the result of many years of generous alumni support and forward-thinking investments in technology, the media centre has lots of camera and computer technology available to students each year.

The mini-theatre, often referred to as Room 3 is a small 125 seat theatre for class-room use, and small student-directed productions or small concerts.
The school's art room is one of the largest rooms in the school, it has high palladium style windows facing the harbour to the west. The art classes not only pursue their own personal work but also create mural designs to enhance the school environment and design posters for school events.
Situated in the uptown centre of the city, Saint John High School overlooks the Saint John Harbour in close proximity to the uptown malls. During the spring and fall, cruise ships can easily be seen while looking out the windows of the school during the generous 10 minute break between classes.
SJHS is home to its very own swimming pool, and a swim team which has won many provincial awards. Students attending SJHS will have access to the pool through their health & physical education course.
