Port Hardy District of

In 1988 and 1989 over 3, 000 regional stream surveys were conducted on Vancouver Island to explore for 24 different mineral types. Due to advancements in technology, the samples were recently reanalyzed for an additional 27 elements (a total of 51). The updated study identified aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, bismuth, boron, cadmium, calcium, chromium, coal, cobalt, copper, gallium, gold, iron, lanthanum, lead, magnesium, manganese, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, phosphorus, potassium, platinum, palladium, scandium, selenium, silver, titanium, sodium, strontium, beryllium, cerium, sulphur, tellurium, thallium, thorium, tungsten, uranium, vanadium, zinc, cesium, germanium, hafnium, indium, limestone, lithium, niobium, rubidium, rhenium, tin, tantalum, yttrium and zirconium.
