While in Golden visit the downtown for great food, shopping, and the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge, the longest freestanding timber frame bridge in Canada. You can also catch live music in the Spirit Square during the summer. Heading up? The Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has great alpine and Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in winter. During the summer months take-in the hiking, horseback riding, and downhill mountain biking. You can go river rafting down the Kicking Horse River with the numerous rafting companies in town or for tours down the Columbia River and experience a guided tour through one of the longest intact wetlands in North America.
