The year was 2007, and Osnium founder Geoff Hogan was looking for a platform to release his innovative new software developed for a market which has previously been untouched. In the corporate world, run by non-technical management, the ideas that stem from purely technical staff are usually as welcomed as a viral outbreak.
Especially when that idea is for a product aimed at a market where funds are scarce and all purchases require some form of board approval. It didn’t matter to Geoff; he simply wanted his software to help those who go to great lengths to help others.
When Geoff made the decision to leave his current employment and develop his own idea independently, he wasn’t going to make the journey alone and without experience. Geoff brought with him years of managerial experience working with companies like Canadian Tire Corporate and MDA which was responsible for building the CanadArm on International Space Station. Geoff had also earned a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Additionally, Geoff has been responsible for teams of up to ten programmers at a time working on several congruent projects.
He also brought along with him another developer who had also become disenchanted with the current trend in working conditions for programmers. Dave Hesketh boasted years of experience in software development and coding in the medical, health care and case management industry. Geoff and Dave set out to utilize their experience and skill to develop their software for a brand new company of their own creation, Osnium Software Inc.
