Oakbank Elementary School

Hello, my name is Carrie Smith. Some of the staff may recognize my name, as I was once a student at Oakbank elementary. Throughout my years of being in the school system, I have had ample time to see precisely how this school is so different from many others. Any student who attends a school will easily remember how we were always encouraged to seek help when necessary. To report any bullying we experienced, and stand up for ourselves. So that hopefully we would never feel afraid of being ourselves, aswell as feel safe! So I must ask...exactly when have any of you ever acted on this advice, hmmm? Never once in my time at Oakbank did any of the staff provide any such support. When a student was pushed around everyday on the playground sought help, they would in turn be yelled at and bearrated before they were cast aside. When a student is always a target for others amusement, their crys for help where scoffed at and ignored. As a student hid, in fear of having to go outside, they only received punishment. A student, who was so broken and helpless that they cried in class...was thrown out of the classroom to suffer alone... ...tell me, when did it become so wrong for a child to ask for help- no, for simple COMFORT?! At what point does abuseing a child's most severe phobia Sound PROFESSIONAL?! When did you lot learn to just LOOK AWAY when they were bullied in your CLASSROOMS?!?! ...how could anyone expose a child to that kind of cruelty..? More than enough to scar anyone for life...so how do you get away with it? ...you left me alone when I needed someone, anyone to... Listen... To Help... To comfort... ...no child should be betrayed in such a way... Not when we counted on you...not after trusting you... The staff in Beausejour may not be as cruel ...but they still look away, and forget when a student needs them. To make this long story short, I have never felt safe at school, and I never will.
