MS Society of Canada, Hinton, AB

The MS Society has had a presence in the West Yellowhead region since 1998 through the Johnson MS mountain bike tour fundraiser. In 2010, the Society saw a need for client services in this area and opened the West Yellowhead regional MS office in Hinton and formed an advisory council. At the time we provided service to Jasper, Hinton and Edson. Realizing that there was a need beyond these boundaries, we have since added Grande Cache, Peers and Whitecourt to our region. The Society offers MS awareness and education to all the communities as well as putting the focus on improving the quality of life for those living with MS. Some of the programs that we offer are weekly trips to the local mall, lunch & learns, swimming, personal trainer sessions and friendly visiting.
