Our first location, at 115 Lakeshore Rd West in Downtown Oakville, was opened in early 2011 by Owner Tom Stasiuk to a very warm welcome. Tom felt there was a very small offering of 100% Natural, Free Range, and Local premium meats in the marketplace, and if you were lucky to find it, the selection was lacking and prices out of reach for most.
“ I opened the Oakville Location somewhat for self-fish reasons to be honest.I could never source a premium Meat Store which carried Natural, and Free Range Meats, at a fair price. I thought, if I was seeking this product, definitely I am not alone.”
With his background in Restaurants, most recently with earth and globe restaurants and Peller Estates Winery, Tom was able to bring his Food and Wine knowledge to offer a twist in the typically uneventful meat purchasing experience.
“We have all visited a butcher store and it is typically cold, smelly, and uninviting, with intimidating service and outrageous pricing. I thought that if you always provide a fantastic product, with engaging and knowledgeable staff, with fair pricing, in a welcoming environment, the concept in itself should work.”
