Mac’s Heating was founded by Mac Houston in 1959. Mac was a blacksmith in Saskatchewan before moving to Victoria in the late 1940s. He started the residential oil heating business and it quickly grew to include his son Ken. Ken married Sue in 1963 and she took over the daily operating of the company office. The business grew to include apartment and commercial buildings as well as commissioning heating systems installed by other mechanical contractors. In 1984, their son Dean joined the family business. Mac’s Heating primarily serves the needs of property managers, industrial and process customers. We have installed everything from gas water heaters to a complete gas-fired glass blowing studio. The past few years have seen more technological advances that all previous years combined. Mac’s Heating performs commissioning and warranty work for Viessmann boilers with CPRO certification, Weishaupt burners (factory representative for Vancouver Island), and most major equipment manufacturers.
