Committed to Customer Satisfaction Vernon Kimmett started as a single man and machine operation with a sole track-loader, under the title of Vern’s Contracting in 1988. After the purchase of a pit and quarry in the southern region of L&A County, Hay Bay Sand & Gravel opened in 1992. Operated by Vernon Kimmett with assistance from his wife Vicky and father Jim. With strategic planning a quarry and pit were acquired north of Greater Napanee. As business increased, the company’s expansion began. Additions to the equipment inventory such as a backhoe, loaders, excavators and dump trucks allowed Hay Bay Sand & Gravel to continue fulfilling customer demand. In April 2008 Hay Bay Sand & Gravel officially relocated their main office to a newly buil t office and shop in Napanee.
