Why the name Grassmere? The name is derived from Lake Grassmere, a lake that was part of the Wisconsin Glacier approximately 13, 000 years ago. Lake Grassmere (also know as Lake Lundy) once covered the area of Southern Ontario, half of the state of Michigan and even reached as far east as Syracuse, New York. Founded by Lyle Ball in 1988, he chose to name his company Grassmere because it was unique and he was determined that his company would have something unique to offer his clientele. Grassmere has been successfully meeting the challenges Mike Booth joined the Grassmere team in 1989 and became a partner in the company in 1995. In 2006, Mike Booth became sole owner of Grassmere Ltd. Grassmere continues to create a team of professionals who can provide innovative solutions to their building projects. The Grassmere organization brings its widespread management experience, quality craftsman and sound financial support to each project. Grassmere has earned a reputation in the local area and throughout Southern Ontario as a consistently solid operation that its clients can depend on.
