World Class Salmon Fishing in Sooke, British Columbia
I was born in Victoria, and have been fishing the Sooke area for 32 years.

Fishing in the Sooke Area
A scenic 45 minute drive from Victoria brings you to the Sooke area. In the spring and summer months, large Chinook salmon (15-50 lbs) are caught in the Sooke area. Joining them, the Coho, Sockeye, Pink, and Chum salmon follow. October is an excellent time fish for large Coho salmon 10-18 Lbs. In the winter months fishing can be excellent as well with smaller feeder Chinook salmon 4-12 Lbs caught just minutes from the dock. The water in the Sooke area is generally calm, under a 2 Ft chop unless it is windy. There is no ground swell like in the open ocean
