Fortier Nathalie / Fortier Law, St. Catharines, ON

Nathalie Fortier obtained her Law Degree (LL.B., magna cum laude) from the University of Ottawa in 1997. She practiced for 2 years at the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa and then opened her practice in Ottawa, where she provided Family Law and Child Protection defense representation until December 2006.
She then joined FACS Niagara as Associate Senior Counsel where she remained until her appointment as Vice Chair of the Child and Family Services Review Board and the Custody Review Board, part of the Social Justice Tribunals of Ontario(SJTO), in July of 2013.
She was cross-appointed to the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Ontario Special Education Tribunal ( French) in July of 2014. During her tenure at the SJTO, she received extensive training in mediation and ADR as well as in Aboriginal Practices.
In August 2016, Nathalie Fortier left her position at the SJTO to return to the practice of Family Law.
