Founded in 1891, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) is the national forum and voice of the evolving electricity business in Canada. The Association contributes to the regional, national and international success of its members through the delivery of quality value-added services. CEA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of senior executives from its Corporate Utility Members. CEA offers members a broad range of innovative programs and services in addition to delivering a coherent and convincing industry viewpoint to decision makers on critical policy and regulatory issues. CEA members generate, transmit and distribute electrical energy to industrial, commercial, residential and institutional customers across Canada every day. Members include integrated electric utilities, independent power producers, transmission and distribution companies, power marketers and the manufacturers and suppliers of materials, technology and services that keep the industry running smoothly. Vision: The Canadian Electricity Association will be the voice of the electricity industry. Mission Statement: A safe, secure, reliable, sustainable and competitively priced supply of electricity is essential to Canada’s prosperity. CEA is the authoritative voice of the Canadian electricity industry, promoting electricity as a key social, economic and environmental enabler that is essential to Canada's prosperity. Strategic Goals: Based on extensive consultations with the leaders of CEA’s member companies, the Association’s strategic goals provide a comprehensive roadmap to addressing the industry’s most pressing issues.
