Dufferin Veterinary Hospital, Orangeville, ON

Dufferin Veterinary Services was founded in 1948 by Dr. Dudgeon. A mixed animal practice, he assisted the families of both companion and farm animals with their veterinary needs. In 1972, Dr. Wilson joined the practice, followed by Dr. Pugh in 1976. When Dr. Dudgeon retired from practice in the early 1980’s, Drs. Wilson and Pugh became the owners of the veterinary practice, along with other veterinary partners. Together, through dedication and advanced medicine, the practice grew and progressed. A satellite office, High County Veterinary Services, was founded in 1984 in order to provide urgent care and medical appointments for clients in Shelburne and the surrounding communities. Caledon East Veterinary Office, founded in 1978, also provides office services to clients in the community of Caledon.
In response to the expanding needs and companion animal population – the original mixed animal hospital was separated into 2 distinct companies in 1990. At this time Dufferin Veterinary Services was established to provide veterinary care for the large animal clients, while Dufferin Veterinary Hospital for Pets was to provide for the distinct needs of companion animals. Recognizing the need for high quality after hours care, Drs. Wilson and Pugh were instrumental in establishing the Emergency Clinic of Highway 10, where clients of member clinics receive full service medical assistance during out-of-hours emergency situations.
After over 30 years of dedicated service both Dr. Pugh and Dr. Wilson are easing into retirement. In 2009, Dr. Harron joined the veterinary team. As did her mentors, Dr. Harron is forging an environment of advanced medicine, patient wellness and client service for companion animals and their families in Orangeville and the surrounding areas.
