Driftwood Beach Park Ltd, Clifford, ON

This park used to be fantastic. Sadly, the original owner passed away and the new park manager is terrible. The office manager has been there for years and she is very good, but she can only be as good as the management will allow. The facilities are still great and for the most part so are the campers, depending on your neighbours. But don’t expect to get any help from the management if you do end up with problem neighbours. Sadly, I think the new management is more interested in money than customer service. I strongly advise anyone who is considering renting a seasonal site at this park to read EVERY policy before making a commitment, especially the policies related to building decks and sunrooms, selling your trailer, and leaving the park. This is especially important for first-time seasonal campers, because basically once you are in there you are at the mercy of the park management and their ever-changing policies. And getting out of there can cost you a fortune – it could even cost you your trailer. This is not unique to this park, but people from other parks that I have spoken to where very surprised by the conduct of the management at this park. The problem is that because these parks are "private", they can basically operate without accountability to anyone, including the local township bylaws, and definitely not their campers/customers. (Although I did hear from a provincial lawyer recently that there is legislation on the way to protect consumers from the abuse of private campground owners.)
