Dr Alex Gabor, Newmarket, ON

I was a patient of Dr Gabor for many years until just recently I haven't been to see him for about 10 years as everytime I want to see him I have to wait 3 or 4 days for an appointment so I go to the walk in clinic 2 or 3 times a year for my usual sinus infections and get my medication and be done... Apparently Dr. Gabor office doesn't contact patients who haven't been in to see him in a certain amount of years and just drops you as a patient without contacting you via email / phone / mail or registered letter asking if you have a new doctor or other.. I have my mom who sees Dr. Gabor on a regular basis and he has never asked her regarding me or if I have changed doctors ? As I mentioned I have been to walk in clinics and been to Southlake Hospital ( just 3 years ago had xrays and an issue with my knee from playing softball ) and everytime I have been asked who my family doctor is I have always said " Dr Gabor "... as I never knew or was never notified he drops patients without notification if they haven't been to see him in a certain amount of time... VERY SAD... I have no problem in finding a new doctor if this is how he looks after people but it would have been great of himself or his office staff to notify me that he has dropped me as a patient and my files have been shredded as per his secretary saying to my mom .. LOL... HECK why was there no notice or any notification that I was dropped ?? Too bad as I always thought the world of this doctor but I never went in the time frame to see him as walk in clinics deal with small issues and I never had any big issues until just recently getting close to 50 years old and I want to have a physical but I guess I will find a new family doctor as I have been with doctor Gabor since I was young but now I can't believe his practice drops patients if they haven't been to see him in a certain time frame.. A word of caution.. see your family doctor or this can happen to you too
