Deer Creek Fine Homes, Barrie, ON

In the late 1980’s, Deer Creek began with projects ranging from townhouses, condominiums and single family dwellings. Production would range from a dozen homes upward to over one hundred homes per year. Various projects were constructed in Newmarket, Orangeville, Barrie and the surrounding areas. In time, Deer Creek became more involved with Land Development and less in home construction. Michael Christensen began working for Deer Creek in the summer of 1994, not long after graduating from three years of studying Construction Engineering Management. Beginning as an Assistant Supervisor on an Orangeville project of 83 homes, Michael gradually moved into the Supervisor’s position and onwards to being Deer Creek’s Construction Manager.
Michael has been a full member of the Ontario Institute of Quantity Surveyors (OIQS) since 1995. The OIQS is a professional organization committed to the Construction Estimating profession. Michael earned the designation of Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) after his 3 years of college and Professional examinations with the OIQS in the mid-1990’s. Michael has also been qualified to perform residential design with a BCIN (“Building Code Identification Number”) designation from the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
