Crossroads Staffing, Orillia, ON

Would give less if I could. I temped with Crossroads a few years back, not only is this a location that looks unprofessional (possibly the reason they can't find quality work) but it was essentially useless in helping to find full-time or even part-time employment with their aid. I temped at several sites Leadbetters and Tiki Escapes most notably and got similar experiences. Not only would you be told you were getting full days work (while in reality it's only a half day, if that) but it would also entail all the jobs that no one else was foolish enough to take. This is all under the continual empty promises that this work could lead to employment of some kind. As a recently graduated student (and goldsmith to boot) it was increasingly frustrating to meet other temps who had finished post-secondary in fields that they should have had much better employment and instead had ended up temping for this terrible company on a regular basis. It all hit home when working with Leadbetters for a couple of days (for chance of employment) to clean up their yards, it was early spring and the first day was a blizzard. Scraping frozen leaves with my hands for a full-day was already degrading enough and then at the end of the day we had the privilege of being told we would be "the first ones at the top of the list for employment thanks to our hard work", a week later not a peep was heard from them. I had won a complimentary trip to London, England and wanted to make sure my "future employers" knew about my commitments before being hired on. Not only was this a problem for Leadbetters that had repeatedly recruited temps for scab work but was also a problem for Crossroads, as they never successfully got me any job that lead to proper employment. (Also worth noting, they contacted me while I was in LONDON, ENGLAND to temp AGAIN for Leadbetters doing the exact same job I had done before!) Shortly after I signed up with R******* in Barrie, one day after my application with them I found full-time/over-time employment with Rosstech Signals in Orillia where I was employed for a little over a year before returning to Peterborough. I had worked under crossroads for five months. This company is terribly managed, useless at finding any kind of lasting employment and is notorious for enlisting people for scab work. If you like doing other peoples chores that they're either too lazy or cheap to do themselves then Crossroads would work great for you.
