Claro relationship-based approach, frequent sensory breaks, structured environment, and visual schedules eliminate many of the behaviour issues seen in a traditional classroom setting. We celebrate positive choices with praise, a token system and values program.
We view all behaviour as communication of needs; challenging behaviour is systematically redirected and, in time, replaced with more appropriate behaviour. An individualized behaviour support plan is designed for each child. All staff follow a safety plan focusing on a positive prevention model that also includes reactive, non-violent crisis intervention.

We work with an awareness of your child's unique sensory processing needs. Students have access to toys and activities that stimulate their senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch, as well as their proprioceptive and vestibular systems. Our learning centres are designed as sensory sensitive environments, featuring semi-private work spaces, sensory rooms, designated quiet spaces, and purposeful activity areas. Claro students have supervised access to technology. From scheduling apps that support executive functioning to stop motion animation projects, students learn to navigate technology safely to increase independence.
