Cathy & Co Hair Studio Day Spa & Shop, Kingston, NS

Cathy Turner started hairstyling as a young girl, working in her father's little shop, Larry's Barbershop and Beauty Salon, in Kingston. Having honed her styling and business skills there for eleven years, she started a family and learned quite easily to multi-task. Over the next years, Cathy took over the business when her father retired, and studied advanced hair styling. As a winner of several competitions, she received her licence as Master Hairdresser Instructor and studied at Acadia University, where she completed a Train the Trainer programme. In addition to substitute teaching at NSCC Middleton and Kentville campuses, she worked as a stylist and colour technician at Key Lime Pie and Sykea salons in downtown Halifax, where she developed a fabulous reputation and an appreciative following. Also, she was a teacher at the Halifax C oncepts School of Cosmetology private academy. More training and another turn at motherhood brought her back to the Valley, where she and her husband Dave bought their stylish home at 1518 Bridge Street and converted the lower level into her sunny, inviting salon. Cathy brings with her a trained and experienced approach to hair styling and advanced colour technique that her clientele gladly travel for. Trendy looks and classic cuts are all very much in vogue at Cathy & Co !
