Leanna mines her own clay and glaze materials and is just as passionate about that process as she is about the functional artwork she creates. Although labour-intensive, the process provides an important connection from the earth to the kiln to the table. Her soda and gas fired work is a result of this labor.

Her passion for the mountains is reflected in the designs that she produces in the collaborative work she does with Jesse Mason. Using clay from Alberta, their electric fired pottery has picturesque vistas of mountain ranges carved, painted and layered on the pieces making each one a unique piece of art.
