Ashley Gesnerf believe style is inspired by a myriad of sources. From my early apprenticeship at a salon in my teens to my current work as a session stylist on photo shoots and for the runway, creating and bringing out beauty in people has been my overarching passion.
Style is the fabric of life. I was born with a desire to beautify and an obsession with the aesthetic. In my teens I put this energy in to apprenticing at Hedkandi salon after graduating from Delmar College of Hair design. I continued to work at the salon and go beyond the chair to improve my practice.

Studying with Redken expanded my understanding of colour techniques and the intricacies involved in giving hair a natural, healthy shine.
My love for make-up has always ran parallel with my practice as a stylist; working with MAC cosmetics for the last five years has furthered my technique, not to mention my familiarity with trends and current products.
Style is alive – a brilliant and dramatic weave of cultures. The opportunity to live around the world has informed my work and personal style, getting lost in the richness and possibilities of local designs.
In September 2007 I moved to Vancouver to run my own studio. I have returned to the reason I love this industry: interacting with all of my clients on an intimate level. The personal setting of my studio allows me to tailor my craft as a stylist to their personality and uniqueness. Trends aside, within each of us is a style, a watermark there to discover – through the process of exploring the unique style in each of my clients, I help bring out a beauty, subjective and universal. The possibility to bring the beauty out in every individual I work with, is not only satisfying, but drives me to each new day.
