In 1974 Bruce began working in the appliance business as a partner in Johnstone's Home Appliance Service. Johnstone's was the largest independent appliance service company in Vancouver. Later, with a background in appliance re-building and service it was natural for Bruce to start one of Vancouver's first appliance installation companies. Bruce founded Alpine Appliance Installations Ltd. in 1987 with one goal in mind, and that was to specialize in the installation of high end major appliances.
