Central Lions Seniors Association (CLSA) is an independent, non-profit society formed in 1979 “to encourage, promote and provide opportunities for recreation, education and socializing, and to improve and enhance the well-being of adults 55 years of age and older.” The City of Edmonton owns and operates the facility. CLSA provides and funds all daytime recreational and social programs at the Centre through program and club fees, donations and fundraising. Thank you for your continued support.

1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to recent estimates released by CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network . In the greater Edmonton area, more than 10, 000 families are directly affected by this diagnosis. Autism doesn't discriminate. ASD occurs in all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups. ASD is almost five times more common among boys (1 in 42) than among girls (1 in 189). While experts still disagree on the causes, improved monitoring and reporting has uncovered a steady increase in rates over the past few decades. For example, in 1992, autism was identified in only 1 out of every 150 children. With increasing rates of diagnosis, there is a growing need for information and support in order to manage this complex disorder. Fortunately, it is becoming evident that through early intervention, focused engagement, and the continued practicing of skills - people with autism can increase their ability to communicate and interact with their community and surroundings.
