Together with a skilled group of flight instructors, he formed an innovative flight school offering students in Canada a unique opportunity to receive specialized, high quality flight training in both recreational and professional disciplines. To achieve this, Montair set about running scheduled flights in its Pilatus PC12 aircraft and also conducting quality flight training. This enabled students to train within an active charter environment, gaining valuable experience as they worked towards their own career goals. Current Opperations Due to strong demand for skilled airline pilots from China’s rapidly growing aviation industry, the company took a new direction in 2005. Montair was one of the few schools around the world to receive approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to train airline pilots. The company was able to use the experience gained from running a commercial operation and apply it to building an advanced airline training program, designed to provide the most professional, high skilled pilots to the airlines. To date, Montair has trained and graduated hundreds of airline pilots, a number that continues to grow. Our purpose-built facilities at the Pitt Meadows Airport (CYPK), allow pilot training for students from Canada and around the world with on-site accommodation, clean and modern classrooms equipped with the latest technology, multi-crew simulator and a fleet of aircraft equipped with state of the art instrument and navigation equipment. Montair is currently expanding its training program both in terms of student capacity and the acquisition of additional training assets.
