Cut Knife High School officially opened June 07, 1966. Roy Erickson was the Principal with Mr. Nestor Fransoo as Vice-Principal. This new building was erected to replace the old four-room high school that could no longer house all the students. By the early 1970s, Cut Knife High School had a student population of approximately 300 ~ 325. The mid '70s saw a new addition of music rooms, Industrial Arts room, and the Home Economics room. In 1989, the school gymnasium was damaged from a tornado, which resulted in one wall having to be knocked down, and then re-built with other walls being strengthened. Our school has been very well represented in sporting events through out the years. We have had many students win provincial standings in Track and Field. 2001 saw our senior Girls' Volleyball team win the 2A Provincial championship with Len Favel, Grade 10 student, claiming the West Central District seniorMen's Golf tournament. Jeremy Ovens moved on to provincial golf at Green Lake Provincial Park. He did well, placing 4th. In November of 2004 our Senior Girls hosted provincial volleyball. Cut Knife High School has the good fortune to be situated in an area for our students to access many facilities. Atton's Lake Golf course and Cross Country Ski and Running trails; Table Mountain alpine skiing, Country Lanes Bowling Alley, Cut Knife School of Dance, Cut Knife Curling rink, and the Cut Knife Civic centre. Cut Knife High School is continually upgrading with new computers, and general modernization of the facility. Cut Knife High School currently offers a full educational program for grades 7 ~ 12.
